Why Our
Rooted Home?
It began with something God laid on my heart: a Christ-centered place where homeschooling is about more than academics. It’s about raising a family whose roots run deep, with Christ at the center of the home.
Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Stephanie.
I know this road.
I’m a daughter of Christ, wife to a wonderful man, and mother to six amazing children. My husband, Sean, served more than twenty years in the Army. As a retired military family, we know what it’s like to leave your people and begin finding them all over again.
I know what it’s like to want a home rooted in Christ but feel like you’re figuring it out alone. To feel stretched thin and wonder, ‘Am I doing enough?’ Through my own story, I’ve learned what it means to be rooted in Him—and how lonely a life of moving can sometimes feel.
Our Rooted Home grew out of prayer and that longing for connection. It is a place for moms and whole families to grow in Him and alongside one another, to be there for each other as Christ is for us.
Our Rooted Home exists so you don’t have to do this by yourself.
A little of our everyday
Living books, muddy hands,
and room to grow.
I’m a homeschool mom of six. Three of our children have graduated, two are school age, and our youngest is on her way to fully joining us soon.
We’re an eclectic homeschooling family that follows Christ first. We draw from Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, weave in classical learning and unit studies, and try to keep our days unhurried. We love living books, time outside, and creating with our hands.
My husbands years of service and the faith, sacrifice and steadfastness that came with them has helped to shape how our family thinks about calling and rootedness. Our home has changed places, but Christ remains at its center.
